This Festival was conceived by a group of students with a major goal: to integrate new ideas into the Albanian filmmakers mentality. This, of course, can only be achieved with the help of our partners and filmmakers across Europe. The aim is to improve experimental and independent cinema. But not only. We want cinematography to expand as a multidisciplinary movement including other sciences related to it. Last year proved that everyone loves cinema and constructive debate. Every single person who joined our initiative, it is a promise of unity, growth and return of the big screen once again in the spotlight.

As we experienced a fierce first edition with our main theme “The Resurrection” we created the illusion of reviving the past. Of course our intention was to enhance the true values lost in the dust of our contemporary perceptions. KILLING THE MYTHS comes as an inspiration from the “Birth of Tragedy” written by the german philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Which are the myths of our times? Who has the predominance in nowadays culture? We are living an anti catharsis of the classical outlook, a society in which the myths have a clear logos. Idromeno Independent is a berserk attempt, we are here to survey, expose, discuss, involve and give alternatives to a new era of art and creators.
